Dating ultrasound no heartbeat
Quoting badger75:" So I just had the worst ultrasound experience and now I am freaking out. I'd go find a doctor who does their own ultrasounds in office instead of sending you to some tech who obviously doesn't care.. When was your LMP and how long are your cycles typically? When I went to my 1st OB visit at 10 weeks it was hard for my dr to find it using a dopler but at the last minute she found it. A TV US is the best one to have for the heartbeat, and he should have been doing one. Everything I've read online tells me I should expect the worst ?Hi I just had my 12 week dating scan and they said there is no heartbeat. The disadvantages are cost, decreased sensitivity for major anomalies compared to the 20 week exam, and marked increase in training requirements for providers. The role of the early anatomic survey, when free DNA screening for chromosomal anomalies is being utilized, remains to be determined. But because the last period that I had before I missed was irregular they decided to do an ultrasound. My OB had her ultrasound tech specialist do the ultrasound and the only thing they could see was a gestational sac. At frist I panicked, but was reassured by my doc (an ultrasound tech) that my dates could be off, or it could be too early. That was just last week and I am happy to report that we saw a baby with a heartbeating away and they estimated the crown to rump measurements to 9 1/2 weeks. PS-Lacy is correct about the Tech's doing a better job than the doc's---my OB admitted this to me. I went in at 6 weeks, they did a transvaginal ultrasound and there was a gestational sac but nothing in it. :-) I am 5w4d today and I am terrified that I will miscarry again.
It was an emotion that I will never forget first nothing on the screen then we saw the baby.Really, even if your dates are off, there should be a heartbeat within a week or so. If there was no heartbeat this time, i'd feel more comfortable getting an ultrasound sooner than 11 weeks, just for peace of mind.Really, even if your dates are off, there should be a heartbeat within a week or so. So I just had the worst ultrasound experience and now I am freaking out. Everything I've read online tells me I should expect the worst ? Just by the sounds of it, this guy is probably using older or slightly outdated equipment if she had to have a full bladder. Quoting badger75:" So I just had the worst ultrasound experience and now I am freaking out. She said its normal not to be able to hear the heart beat until 11 or 12. I am supposed to be 9 weeks 3 days ( but I suspect that could be slightly off but only by a few days a week max) Went for my dating ultrasound and it was literally in the basement of a building and to say the tech was an ass would be putting it nicely. So this sent me into a little bit of a panic and I happen to live next door to a walk in clinic so I went in and was like ok, having a panic attack what do I do ? " when i was pregnant with my son we didnt hear heart beat until around 12 weeks, i was thinking/expecting the worse since i have had previous miscarages. My ob/gyn doesn't require that anymore with their newer systems. In any case, that tech was really rude to the op Quoting badger75:" So I just had the worst ultrasound experience and now I am freaking out.
